Pre-Health Support

Mentorship

Graduated Health Science Scholars have successfully been accepted to MD, MD/PhD, MD/MPH, and MD/MBA programs across Texas and the nation. Our student community provides outstanding mentorship to new students through Big/Middle/Little families, HSS Council cohorts, and Brown Bag (lunch meeting) programming, helping to orient students to the plethora of opportunities at UT-Austin.

Sell it.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

HSS’s Guide to UT-Austin Opportunities

Several student council members are in the process of compiling a spreadsheet listing volunteer opportunities, research opportunities, and student organizations that HSSers have participated in/applied to. This resource will be invaluable to students seeking to get involved in service, research, and student organizations at UT-Austin. More details to follow!

Mingle with Professionals

In the HSS first-year seminar (as well as at Friday Lunch events), guest speakers will give a variety of presentations to students. These guest speakers are often medical professionals interested in helping students learn and grow; you’ll be able to learn from their words and experiences and network with them.
