Testimonials

Out of all that the Health Science Scholars honors has to offer, at the heart of our program lies a commitment to nurturing academic excellence, fostering intellectual curiosity, and cultivating a sense of community among our students. Our passionate and dedicated members have built an incredible community over the years, supporting the success of each student in our program.

As a freshman here at UT, being a part of the HSS community has allowed me to make lasting friendships with people with similar passions and goals. Being able to bond with other HSSers through events like the BML reveal, profit shares, and social events has allowed me to adjust to college life here!

I have so much support in HSS from some of my best friends to great educational mentors I hope to be like someday. The community in HSS is something I don’t think I could do college without - the friendship and opportunities granted from HSS are invaluable to me.

My favorite part of HSS is the community! I have met some of the best people through HSS, and I love having a community of like-minded individuals that support one another throughout our journeys together at UT. These people have helped make UT feel a lot smaller, and have helped me become a better version of myself.
— Jordan Cheek, Biochemistry, Class of 2025
As a freshman, I struggled to find a community in my first week of school; however, through HSS, I was greeted with warm and welcoming arms by people who shared like-minded goals as me. Eventually, I found and created life-long friends who I can always rely on for help and fun.

HSS is awesome! It has really allowed me to connect and make new professional connections, but most importantly great friends who I know will be amazing physicians one day!
